NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Peoria-Pekin Urbanized Area Transportation Study (PPUATS), the regional transportation planning agency for the Peoria-Pekin Urbanized Area, is opening its Title VI Program with Environmental Justice Consideration and Limited English Proficiency (LEP) Plan and Public Participation Plan (PPP) for public review and comment. Title VI ensures that the level and quality of the transportation planning process is provided in a nondiscriminatory manner without regard to race, color, or national origin. Environmental Justice builds on to Title VI activities by considering the impacts to low-income and minority populations within transportation planning and decision-making. The LEP Plan ensures meaningful access to transportation planning-related programs and activities by persons with limited English proficiency. The PPP describes the continued efforts and sets forth the policy of PPUATS to involve public officials, community leaders, organizations, and area citizens in the transportation planning process.
The review and comment period begins Monday, May 10, 2021, and ends on Wednesday, June 23, 2021. During that period, all questions and comments, written or oral, should be submitted in person or by mail to: Tri-County Regional Planning Commission, Attn: Title VI, Public Participation, and LEP Plan Update, 456 Fulton St, Suite 401, Peoria, Illinois 61602; by phone at (309) 673-9330; or via email to mbruner@tricountyrpc.org.
