We have begun the public participation process for BikeConnect HOI, the regional bicycle plan for the Heart of Illinois region.
If you were at our kick-off open house at the Gateway Building, thank you for stopping by. It was a fantastic event with almost 100 people stopping by to provide input, learn about the planning process, and to talk about biking in our region. If you couldn’t make it, though, never fear. There are still plenty of ways to have your voice heard.
Two very easy ways to join the conversation are to follow us on Facebook and to join our MindMixer site. We are posting regular updates on our Facebook page (facebook.com/tcrpc.page) regarding the bike plan, asking questions, and providing updates on the planning process. One of our planners, David Smesrud, has vowed to bike to work every day until December and you can track his progress on the Facebook page as well.
We are also starting conversations on our MindMixer site (bikeconnecthoi.mindmixer.com). Creating an account is easy (you can link it to your Facebook page, if you’d like) and you can immediate begin answering questions and discussing your priorities for biking in the region. We add another question each week, so be sure to check in regularly and join the conversation.
If you have any additional questions, you can feel free to contact Nick Hayward at nhayward@tricountyrpc.org
