Notice of Public Comment Period and Public Meeting
Draft FY 2027-30 Transportation Improvement Program
The Tri-County Regional Planning Commission (TCRPC), as the designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the Peoria-Pekin urbanized area, is holding a public comment period on the draft Fiscal Year (FY) 2027-TCRPC – Draft TIP – FY 2027-30 Transportation Improvement Program30 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). The document provides a multi-year listing of federally funded and regionally significant transportation projects in the Peoria-Pekin urbanized area scheduled for construction between July 1, 2026, and June 30, 2030.
The 30-day public comment period begins on Monday, September 7, 2026, and ends on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. During this period, the draft FY 2027-30 TIP will be available on the TCRPC website at https://tricountyrpc.org/draft-fy27-30-tip/, and physical copies can be accessed at the TCRPC office or one of the 20 public review sites at local libraries throughout the Peoria-Pekin urbanized area.
The public comment period provides an opportunity for the community to review the proposed use of federal transportation grant funds over the next four years. TCRPC will hold a public meeting at the September MPO Technical Committee meeting scheduled for Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at 456 Fulton St., Room 420, Peoria, IL 61602, unless otherwise posted.
Written public comments may be submitted through Tuesday, September 6, 2026, by using one of the following methods: email input@tricountyrpc.org; mailing or delivering to TCRPC, Attn: TIP Public Comment, 456 Fulton Street, Suite 401, Peoria, Illinois 61602. All comments received during the public comment period are recorded and provided to the Full Commission for their consideration before the document’s adoption.
The Full Commission will review all public comments, solicit final public feedback, and consider adoption of the FY 2027-30 Transportation Improvement Program at their regular scheduled Wednesday, October 7, 2026 meeting. Agenda and meeting materials are available 48 hours in advance on TCRPC’s website at https://tricountyrpc.org/meeting-materials/.
