The Tri-County Regional Planning Commission seeks input at a public open house on the future of transportation in the Greater Peoria metropolitan area for the next 25 years.
The Tri-County Regional Planning Commission (TCRPC or Tri-County) invites the Greater Peoria community to attend a public open house on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Fondulac District Library, 400 Richland Street, East Peoria, Illinois 61611.
At the open house, community members will be asked to share their experiences, insights, and ideas to improve Greater Peoria’s transportation infrastructure by participating in multiple interactive stations. These stations will provide opportunities for participants to share how they travel within the region; identify barriers to alternative transportation, such as walking, biking, and using public transit; pinpoint the locations of their top safety concerns; and link transportation and economic development together.
The input received will help shape the process of developing the region’s Long-Range Transportation Plan (LRTP). It is important to share YOUR input, as you have the most up-to-date and relevant information due to your unique perspectives and usage of our region’s transportation system.
The LRTP serves as a guide for future transportation development and maintenance decisions in the Greater Peoria metropolitan area through 2050. The final document will identify transportation gaps and challenges and provide action steps to move us from now to the Community’s future transportation vision.
