About PPUATS Policy

From its establishment in 1976 to 2021, the Peoria-Pekin Urbanized Area Transportation Study (PPUATS) Policy Committee functioned as the metropolitan planning organization (MPO) and transportation decision-making body for the Greater Peoria region.

PPUATS Policy consisted of 20 local elected and appointed officials, representing local and state governments as well as transportation interests in the region. Effective July 1, 2021, the PPUATS Policy Committee merged with the Tri-County Regional Planning Commission (TCRPC). Following the merger, TCRPC assumed the role, duties, and requirements of the MPO.

Typically, the Policy Committee met monthly at 9:00am on the first Wednesday of each month, except for January and July.
