US Census 2020
The U.S. Constitution requires a census, or count, of every person living in the United States every ten years. The data collected by the decennial census determine the number of seats each state has in the U.S. House of Representatives and is also used to distribute billions in federal funding and local communities.
Accurate census data means more benefits for our local communities, including schools, hospitals, roads, child care centers, senior centers, and other services our families need. Your participation in the 2020 Census is critical to securing billions of dollars in funding for the community programs you value most. Visit CareAbouttheCount.org to learn more and take the census.
Filling out the census will boost our community, ensure adequate public funding and inspire a sense of civic duty. Read about regional efforts to boost our Central Illinois participation.

Tri-County's 2020 Census Marketing Campaign
To aid in census outreach, TCRPC applied to be the Regional Intermediary for the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) 2020 Census Grant Program. This entails collaborating and coordinating subrecipients to conduct census outreach and education efforts in a 10-county North Central Illinois region: DeWitt, Fulton, Livingston, Marshall, Mason, McLean, Peoria, Stark, Tazewell, and Woodford counties. TCRPC’s grant application includes the development and implementation of a region-wide, multilingual marketing campaign in the North Central Region.
IDHS awarded TCRPC and the Illinois Association of Community Action Agencies as Co-Regional Intermediaries for the North Central region. IDHS awarded allowed Tri-County to go through the procurement process to bring on a marketing consultant to develop and implement a region-wide marketing campaign. TCRPC ultimately selected DCC Marketing, LLC for Phase I and II, with Phase II focusing on areas with a response rate lower than 65%.
