STU Funds

Every year, PPUATS receives federal funding through the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT). This funding source is known as Surface Transportation Program - Urban, referred to as STU.   PPUATS decides where to spend these funds.

A policy was created to act as guidance for the funding allocation.  Recently PPUATS adopted a new STU policy and criteria.  In the past project selection was based off of qualitative criteria. The new policy utilizes a more quantitative approach.
