Tri-County Regional Planning Commission
The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), the Tri-County Regional Planning Commission, and the Greater Peoria Mass Transit District worked from 2005 to 2007 to develop a comprehensive transit study for the Tri-County Region. This scope of work for this project involved an evaluation of mobility objectives, an assessment of user markets, development and evaluation of service options, and development of a 20-year transit plan for the Tri-County Region with specific recommendations for the next five years.
IDOT hired the Tri-County Regional Planning Commission to handle the Public Involvement Scope of Work and contracted with Perteet Inc. to be the technical consultant for the study.
This project had a Technical Team and a Public Involvement Team that worked together under the direction of the Project’s Steering Committee. The Program Support Chief from IDOT’s Division of Public and Intermodal Transportation provided assistance.
The study was completed in January 2008 and can be viewed here. If you would like to comment on the study, please email Maggie Martino.
