The Tri-County Travel Demand Model (TDM) uses regional population and employment data to mathematically predict travel patterns within Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford Counties. TCRPC uses this tool as part of the Long Range Transportation Planning process to guide potential changes to the regional transportation network. TCRPC has also recently employed the TDM in the STBG programming process to inform regional value of individual projects. Additionally, the TDM has been useful to partner agencies when overseeing road projects which may significantly alter traffic patterns when construction causes extended periods of road closures.
