Tri-County Regional Planning Commission

In June 2000, the Village of Metamora asked the Tri-County Regional Planning Commission to initiate a comprehensive planning process.  The Village wanted to review and update the Village’s older 1963 comprehensive plan.

This work included the evaluation of trends for such issues as population growth, demographics, economic indicators, and land use and development patterns, as well as forecasting and analyzing future projections for those trends.  The Village of Metamora Planning Commission held and supervised monthly planning meetings.

The resulting document includes goals and actions in the following categories:

  • Transportation
  • Housing
  • Utilities
  • Natural and cultural resources
  • Community facilities
  • Economic development
  • Agriculture

Village residents, officials, and others can use these community-based goals can help guide future development and changes in Metamora.
